History of the Contest
The Mixed Quartet Contest was inaugurated by LABBS in 2012. After a few years of growth, it was moved under the umbrella of "Barbershop in Harmony", with the host organisation rotating between LABBS, BABS and Sweet Adelines Region 31. Since 2023 it has returned 'home' to LABBS, where equity with the single-voice contest has been achieved, both actions ensuring that mixed quartets can qualify for a contestant spot at BHS International.
Due to the pandemic, no contest was held in 2020.
