Welcome to Convention 2025.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Harrogate in October for convention in our 49th year.  We have lots of exciting events over the weekend, and there is something for everyone who participates whether you are competing or not this year.  Convention is always such a joyous time to sing to and with each other, to meet up with old friends and to make a few new ones.  This site will provide you with all the information you need to help you prepare for the weekend and to enjoy everything on offer.  Please consult it for updates.

Can’t wait to see everyone – the excitement is building!

Convention Charity

Gift-wrapped shoeboxThis year LABBS are supporting men, women and children in poor and beleaguered communities in the South-eastern areas of Ukraine through the "Chorley & District Support for Ukraine" Christmas Shoebox Appeal.

Please note this is a change as the previous arrangement fell through.

Please bring either single items to Convention to place under the Christmas tree in the foyer or a decorated and packed shoebox - do not seal this as all items will need to be checked for suitability. Please add the age of the child or if it is for a man or a woman clearly somewhere. The boxes will need to be transported in vans so make sure any label is secure. If wrapping a shoebox, please wrap the lid and box separately and secure it with an elastic band. This organisation also provides boxes of little comforts to soldiers in terrible conditions. If you would like your box to go to a soldier, either male or female, please indicate this on the label.

Fill your shoebox with a selection of suitable items or bring one or more individual items from the lists below. Individual items will be sort into boxes and every item will go to Ukraine.
Boxes or items for children might include: Gloves, scarf, hat, chocolate, sweets, toys (but no war related toys please) drawing books and pens, pencils or crayons, soap, socks, drinks sachets such as hot chocolate, toothbrush, toothpaste.

Boxes or items for adults might include: Gloves, scarf, hat, chocolate, sweets, socks, note pads and pens, deodorant and other toiletries, plasters, toothbrush toothpaste, wet wipes, heat pads, drinks sachets, soup sachets, shaving supplies, sanitary protection, candles, safety matches.

The boxes go to Ukraine in deep winter, think of displaced and struggling men, women and children in difficult conditions in the cold. If you wish to include a Christmas card or message, please do so.

You can find out more about Chorley & District Support for Ukraine on their Facebook page.

BRING YOUR BRAS

We will be collecting bras again this year to help raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, so bring your unloved over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders and donate them to a worthy cause! You’ll find the collection area in the main foyer.
